DIGITAL & E-COMMERCE ASSISTANT WORK PLACEMENT
Join LABRUM London, an African British Heritage fashion brand whose purpose is to tell the untold stories of West Africa and to help bridge the gap between Western society and African cultures.
We are currently offering a Digital & E-Commerce Assistant work experience placement to join the team at our 180 Strand studio. This is an expenses-only work placement. Travel and food expenses will be covered. The position is for a duration of 3-6 months with the potential of an extension and paid position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in e-commerce, digital marketing and online brand building. Working closely with the team, you will support the day-to-day management of LABRUM's digital channels, helping to maintain our online store, organize content, support marketing initiatives and contribute to the growth of the brand's digital presence - developing practical skills that can form the foundation of a career in fashion e-commerce and digital growth.
Familiarity with Shopify and an interest in website management are highly desirable. Knowledge of HTML/CSS or Shopify Liquid is a bonus. But most importantly, we're looking for someone who is proactive, curious and eager to contribute within a fast-paced creative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Website & E-Commerce Operations
- Shopify Operations: Support the maintenance and optimisation of our Shopify store, including product uploads, merchandising, collection management and basic site updates. Familiarity with HTML, CSS or Shopify Liquid is highly advantageous.
- Website Optimisation: Support ongoing improvements to the customer journey by helping identify opportunities to enhance site performance and user experience.
2. Marketing Analytics & Consumer Insights
- Performance Reporting: Assist in gathering and reviewing website, social and e-commerce performance data to help inform future marketing activity.
- Competitor Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and best practices across fashion, e-commerce and digital marketing.
- AI-Assisted Workflows: Utilise AI tools to support content creation, product merchandising, research, reporting and operational efficiency across the business.
3. Retention & Content Operations
- Social Scheduling: Assist with planning, organising and scheduling content across LABRUM's digital channels.
- Lifecycle Marketing: Assist with managing and tweaking automated email and SMS flows (like Welcome and Abandoned Cart sequences) in our marketing stack.
- Creator Logistics: Coordinate our micro-influencer gifting and product seeding programs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
You are digitally curious, proactive and eager to learn. You have a natural interest in e-commerce, digital marketing and online consumer behaviour, and enjoy understanding how brands connect with their audiences. Whether you're analysing website performance, organising content or updating products online, you approach tasks with attention to detail, curiosity and a proactive mindset.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- The "Figure-It-Out" Factor: When something breaks or a system is inefficient, your first instinct is to research and fix it before being asked.
- Digital & E-Commerce Interest: Familiarity with Shopify, e-commerce platforms or website management is desirable. Knowledge of HTML/CSS or Shopify Liquid would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Data-Comfortable: You aren't afraid of spreadsheets. You look at numbers and want to understand the human psychology behind them.
- Organization: Excellent calendar management and the ability to track moving logistics
WHAT WE OFFER

- Hands-on experience across Shopify, content, analytics and digital marketing.
- The opportunity to build practical skills and industry experience that can support a future career in fashion, e-commerce or digital marketing.
