LABRUM ATHLETIC

LABRUM Athletic is the heartbeat of our commitment to grassroots empowerment. Founded by Foday Dumbuya in 2016, the initiative was born out of a desire to give back to Sierra Leone through the transformative power of sport. What began as a small running group in Freetown has grown into a platform for youth development, community connection, and cultural pride.

Inspired by Foday’s time with Run Dem Crew in London and mentorship from Charlie Dark, LABRUM Athletic channels the energy of movement into something greater than sport. Running teaches discipline, focus, and resilience. It’s a tool for showing up - for yourself and for your community. With every step, the mission is to harness positivity and create lasting momentum in the lives of young people.

Over the years, LABRUM has raised funds to support the initiative - most recently directing 100% of proceeds from dedicated campaigns to provide kit, training support, and resources to runners in Freetown. The message is simple: attitude is everything. And through sport, we can help unlock confidence and possibility.

We’ve also extended this mission through community events, including our annual LABRUM x Sierra Leone All Stars Football Tournament. Held during the festive season in Freetown, the tournament brings together creatives, artists, athletes, ex-professional footballers, and the wider diaspora in celebration of Mama Salone. More than just a football match, it’s a vibrant reminder of the joy of coming together - to recalibrate, reconnect, and celebrate the spirit of home. With support from adidas UK, it’s become a much-anticipated event in our yearly calendar.

Alongside this, we host the LABRUM Athletic x Goderich Community Sports Day, powered by adidas London. This biannual event has become a beacon of hope for the local community, promoting sports engagement and steering youth away from drugs and towards purpose. Six areas compete in a dynamic display of teamwork, talent, and tenacity. A $1,000 prize is awarded to the winning team, directly supporting their education and athletic development.

These moments - whether through a 5K run, a village match, or a community relay - are about more than movement. They’re about building a future. We’re endlessly grateful to the Goderich community, our Freetown team, and all those who bring LABRUM Athletic to life. Together, we run. We play. We grow.

LABRUM CHARITY SIERRA LEONE

Established in 2016 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, the foundation empowers youth through sport, focusing on running, education, and crime prevention. It provides running shoes, apparel, coaching, and educational support to aspiring athletes who lack access to basic equipment.

In 2017, the charity responded to Sierra Leone’s devastating Christmas mudslides with urgent relief efforts, delivering essential supplies to affected families . It has continued its fundraising mission, further boosted by the success of the LABRUM x Kelly Anna Highlife print face mask campaign. These sales funded food and medicine for youth sports programmes - recognised by the Minister of Sports.

LABRUM also designed Sierra Leone’s National Sports Authority and Olympics 2020 kits in 2020, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and National Olympic Committee. These kits promoted unity across the country's 16 ethnic groups, with proceeds supporting the foundation's ongoing work.

The LABRUM CHARITY SIERRA LEONE sits at the core of LABRUM’s mission: using sport as a tool for transformation, community unity, and opportunity. Through intentional design and charitable initiative, LABRUM enables youth to dream bigger and run further - both in sport and in life.
