GIVEAWAY: Converse x Labrum London Pro Leather Exclusive
On Thursday we announced the launch of our latest collaboration with Converse – an exclusive pair of Pro Leather sneakers designed in celebration of Sierra Leone.
We have been excited and overwhelmed by the replies we’ve been getting after the announcement of the limited edition sneakers.
Labrum is focused on telling narratives based around the history of West Africa and celebrating the individuals highlighted within these stories. When Foday started working with Converse on this project he knew intrinsically how this should look.
For this friends & family only collaboration the design is bold, fun and full of energy. Through bold graphics and a classic basketball silhouette Foday has captured the energy and hope of a nation in a limited edition sneaker.
The Pro Leather sneakers were designed in London and made in Italy. The colours of the design represent the national flag of Sierra Leone; Green, White and Blue, and the zig-zag print emblazoned across the shoe was inspired by the 16 tribes that live in the country.
The limited edition sneakers are a statement of unity, a call to all Sierra Leoneans to neglect tribal allyships and bring everyone together as one nation. It doesn't matter where you live, everyone is represented collectively.
In the 1970’s, the Converse Pro Leather made a name for itself as one of the most legendary basketball shoes of all time. Now, we've updated the iconic look for an off-court style in the colours of Sierra Leone and, for the first time ever, Converse has let us print on the midsole too. When we say this is an exciting design – we mean it!
The sneakers feature Converse’s signature Chevron logo on the midfoot, and the heel follows suit with bright green detailing. A gold foil “Pro Leather” logo appears debossed on each side of the shoe, while a leather sock liner and rubber midsole complete the look. The limited edition sneakers come with a leather ‘Labrum’ keychain and a dust bag in a matching print.
To celebrate this incredible collaboration and our ongoing work with Converse, we will be doing a giveaway on our Instagram. Over the next few days you will see some of our incredible friends, family and community sharing their limited edition sneakers and we want to offer the opportunity for you to do this too.
